7 PhysX Comparison Videos You Need To Watch

Over the past year we saw the release of several games that really took advantage of PhysX such as Darkest Of Days, Batman Arkham Asylum and Cryostasis, Many people have been wondering what the big deal about PhysX is and why exactly it needs to be done on the GPU while similar features have been implemented in games for several years now with the Havok Physics engine that runs on the CPU. PhysX is only just emerging on the scene and game developers are hard at work implemented PhysX into many new games, as we recently posted in our “Awesome Video Game Physics Destruction Videos You Need to Watch” PhysX and video game physics in general have the potential to really bring games to the next level and change the way we play forever. Anyone that has played games like Batman Arkham Asylum ,Darkest Of Day or Mirrors Edge and has played them with and without PhysX knows that PhysX really does add to the atmosphere and environment of the game and is not just simple eye candy.

If you are not really familiar with PhysX in the latest games and the different features that PhysX offers and have been implemented into these games then these PhysX comparison videos will show you, most of them have been put together by PhysXinfo.com. Zogrim over at PhysXinfo.com has been doing an amazing job putting together PhysX comparison videos for the latest games that implement PhysX. Most of the video’s from PhysXinfo.com are side-by-side comparison videos showing what the game looks like with PhysX Enabled and disabled along with each of the different PhysX features that have been implemented into the game giving you a really good idea of what PhysX brings to the game.

We put together a list of 7 of the best PhysX comparison videos that you should watch. Most of them are from PhysXinfo.com done by Zogrim except for the Terminator Salvation PhysX OFF|ON side-by-side Comparison and the Terminator Salvation PhysX CPU|GPU side-by-side Comparison which were put together by Nvidia.

New Terminator Salvation PhysX Side-by-Side Comparison Videos

The Terminator Salvation page over at nzone has been updated with two new videos showing the new PhysX features that will be implemented in an upcoming patch. The two videos are side-by-side comparison videos. The first video shows PhysX OFF and ON side-by-side showing what the game would look like with PhysX enabled or disabled and how the different PhysX features would make the game look. The second video shows the game running with PhysX enabled on the GPU and disabled running on the CPU, which as you can tell is almost not an option.

There is also a link for a TIME DEMO which brings you to an empty page claiming the TIME DEMO IS COMING SOON. Sounds like another great PhysX benchmark tool is going to be released shortly.
