Nvidia Geforce GTX 480 Tech Demo’s Video Shows off PhysX Raging Rapids Ride and PhysX Supersonic Sled Demo’s

GameStarDE has made a really nice video with all of the new Technology demos from NVIDIA for the New GTX 400 series video cards. In the video you can see new footage of the PhysX Raging Rapids Ride demo, and some new and really nice footage of the PhysX Supersonic Sled demo we have been excited about for a long time. Check it out below.

Crysis 2 – CryENGINE 3 GDC 2010 Stage Demo Explains Physics and Different Destructible Types

A new series of stage demo videos showing off Crysis 2 and CryEngine 3 from GDC 2010 have surfaced on YouTube. These videos show off the different features of CryEngine 3, most interesting to us is one of the videos that shows off the physics and different types of destruction and destructible objects that the engine can put into games. We recently posted about the Crytek GDC 2010 Physics Demonstration and GDC 2010 CryEngine 3 Tech Trailer Shows Crysis 2 With Awesome Physics and Destruction. This new video goes into detail on the different types of destructible physics based objects that the engine can implement into games and the difference between destructible and deformable objects. Check out the video below.

This is pretty exciting stuff and we are keeping an eye on Crysis 2 and Cryengine 3 since it was reported that Cryengine 3 will be using an in-house custom made physics engine and will not be using any middle-ware such as Havok Physics or PhysX for the game physics. According to the Cryengine developers this will “allow the destruction of almost any object (trees, vehicles or buildings)”

Crytek GDC 2010 Physics Demonstration

Game Videos has posted a short however very cool video from GDC 2010 of cam footage showing off a Physics demonstration of their new physics engine being implemented into the new Cryengine 3 that will be powering Crysis 2, check it out below. GF100 Fermi Techdemo PhysX Supersonic Sled HD-720p-Video

PCGamesHardware has a new 720p version of the PhysX Rocket Sled Demo that was being shown off by NVIDIA on the new GF100 Fermi Video card at CES 2010 this past week. The video is not only 720p a lot better than the previous videos of this we posted about but also shows several different run through’s of the demo, check it out below.

In this 720p HD Video we see Nvidias GF100-Fermi Techdemo called Supersonic Sled, directly from CES 2010. In the box running the Demo were 3 graphics card, apparently of the GF100 Fermi breed. Nvidias Sean Cleveland tells us, that only one card was working to make the demo run. In his further comments, he explains how the demo uses DirectX 11 tesselation for improved geometry count and how Nvidias own Physx API helps to model all the parts of the demo, making the volumetric smoke from the engine being deflected by blast screens, the overhanging rock arc crumbling and the bridge break down. Not to mention to ragdoll the poor sledge pilot. Have Fun!
