Completely Destructible Level Made With The UDK and APEX Destruction

Ever since GDC 2011 and the news that Apex PhysX support would be coming to the Unreal Development Kit along with the first APEX Destruction Demo From the NVIDIA Booth at GDC 2011 we have been excited about any news related to it. Apex PhysX support for the Unreal Development Kit was released in March and we have started to see some pretty cool stuff being made with it like the First APEX Physics(PhysX) Test With the Unreal Development Kit, and various Apex Destruction Demonstrations with the UDK. Now YouTube user RU1NOUS has made a video that has blown us away. he has made a completely destructible level in the UDK with the Apex Destruction tool that looks like some kind of tech demo that Nvidia would release to show off PhysX. RU1NOUS said he is doing this for his university dissertation and this is still a work in progress and plans to post an updated video soon so stay tuned for more info. It is great to see people doing things like this. Now the next step is to get this stuff implemented into actual games or tech demos that we can play with! Check out the video below and be sure to check out his YouTube page for more info and videos.

Awesome Apex Destruction Demonstration With the Unreal Development Kit

DigitalDemolition has been waiting for Apex PhysX support in the Unreal Development Kit for awhile now and this past week it arrived. He has quickly gone to work playing around with the new Apex PhysX modules in the Unreal Development Kit and as usual has made some nice video demonstrations showing off the new Apex PhysX Destruction support in the latest Unreal Development Kit that was released this past week. The first video shows an entire testing room with Apex destructible objects that can be completely blown away into countless different pieces and then manipulated further. in the second video he shows an entire building like structure that can be completely destroyed. This is very cool stuff, hopefully we see more videos from DigitalDemolition and see these new Apex PhysX features being implemented into games. Since NVIDIA never releases the coolest of their tech demo’s to the public, i think it would be awesome if somebody was to make a replica of the GDC 2011 APEX Destruction Demo From the NVIDIA Booth.

[VIDEO] First APEX Physics(PhysX) Test With the Unreal Development Kit

YouTube user sporstube has made a nice video demonstration showing off the new Apex PhysX support in the latest Unreal Development kit that was released this past week. The video shows of a PhysX based wall that can be completely destroyed with the rocket launcher and breaks apart into many different PhysX pieces that can be further manipulated. Check it out below. This is pretty exciting to see people starting to play with the new APEX PhysX features in the UDK, hopefully we will see something like the GDC 2011 APEX Destruction Demo From the NVIDIA Booth.

Epic Games Releases March 2011 Unreal Development Kit Beta With Apex PhysX Support

NVIDIA’s APEX PhysX technology has been integrated into the unreal engine along with DX11 and now ships with the Unreal Development Kit. This is pretty exciting news, hopefully we start to see some cool games or at least tech demos showing off this stuff such as the GDC 2011 APEX Destruction Demo From the NVIDIA Booth. We have been seeing people play around with fracture meshes and PhysX objects but nothing on this level. Games have yet to make use of PhysX technology for anything more than some nice eye candy, hopefully this will start to change that.
