Mars GPU PhysX Benchmark

There is a pretty cool new PhysX GPU benchmark you can download from a new third person shooter being developed by Epic games in China called Mars. The game and demo implements GPU PhysX effects on a pretty large scale with everything from fluid, particles, cloth, smoke, and destruction. You can find out more info from Geforce.cn and the games website. The level in the benchmark is called Global Mission and shows off the entire range of PhysX effects that are implemented into the game. Check out a video of the demo below.

Amazing Physics demos from NVIDIA GTC 2010

Nvidia has been showing off some pretty amazing stuff this year at the GPU Technology Conference like the Beating Heart Surgery Made Possible by NVIDIA 3D CUDA Technology. What we are interested in is Physics. During the Keynote Tony Tamasi, Senior Vice President Content and Technology in NVIDIA showed off two amazing physics based demos that use PhysX to simulate smoke and fluids(water). We have seen smoke and fluid simulation for a long time now but these new demos are really amazing and continue to improve and are all done in real time on a single GPU. The smoke demo shows very high-fidelity smoke simulation that looks almost real when the characters interact with the smoke and the lighthouse fluid simulation demo really looks like a storm battering the coast with physics based debris floating around. Check out videos of the demo below taken from http://www.netbooknews.com. Imagine someday when we see stuff like this implemented into games!

NVIDIA PhysX Supersonic Sled Demo Now Available for Download

With yesterdays launch of the GTX 400 series GPU’s, NVIDIA has also released the long awaited PhysX SuperSonic Sled demo for download. Unfortunately you will also need one of these new GPU’s, which wont be out for another 2 weeks to run this PhysX demo because it uses DX11 tessellation to take full advantage of the new GTX 400 series GPU’s. You can check out the demo page and more information about it here.

We have been excited for this demo since we first saw videos of it several months ago. Check out our previous postings for more information:
