BF3 Back to Karkand Expansion has “improved destruction”

Aside from some awesome new maps, according to the Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand gameplay trailer the expansion will also feature “improved destruction.” In the trailer there are a few scenes showing off some physics and some sweet destruction before the “enhanced destruction” is shown. Battlefield 3 and the lack of News

I would like to apologize for the lack of recent news posts. I have been busy on the Battlefield. I have been playing Battlefield 3 pretty much non-stop since it came out. If i ever stop playing I plan to do a follow up to the Battlefield 3 PC Beta Physics and Destruction Gameplay video I made showing off the physics and destruction in the beta for the full version of the game. The good news is that there is slightly more destruction in the final version, as you can see from my Battlefield 3: Building Destruction video below, we do have entire buildings that can collapse just like in Bad Company 2. The bad news is that it is still heavily scripted and collapses the same way every time. Stay tuned for the new video.

Battlefield 3 Physics and Destruction Videos

As a huge Battlefield fan I have always been looking forward to Battlefield 3. I became even more excited when we learned that DICE Would Focus on the PC with Battlefield 3, Will feature Destruction that Consoles have been holding back. Since that article I was wondering what kinds of physics and destruction Battlefield 3 would have compared to Bad Company 2, hoping it would be the same if not better. With the Battlefield 3 Beta that took place this past month we finally found out what the physics and destruction would be like, in the multiplayer at least. I made a nice video showing off the Battlefield 3 PC Beta Physics and Destruction Gameplay. Overall I am pretty impressed with the destruction in the beta. Although it was not heavy on actual persistent physics the destruction is awesome and really adds to the game. What i mean by persistent physics is that after a piece of debris is generated it does not become a physics object you can interact with. Aside from that my only complaint is that there were no buildings that can completely collapse and you give a Destruction 2.0 kill like we have in bad Company 2, maybe some of the maps in the final release will have this? Also we will have to wait and see if the single player campaign has better physics and destruction.

Below is the video I made showing off the physics and destruction in the PC version of the Battlefield 3 beta from the Operation Metro and Caspian Border maps. Also EA has released their Battlefield 3 Destruction Trailer showing off some more cool footage of the destruction.

I actually made this video before I unlocked the C4 from the support class and it turns out you can destroy more things with the C4 that the RPG and grenades can’t. I also plan to do a new video showing off the physics and destruction in Battlefield 3 with the final release and all the maps! so stay tuned.

Apex PhysX Impact Damage Demonstration With Particle Emitter

Zombiethatatehimself is at it again with another cool Apex PhysX Impact Damage video showing off some awesome Apex destruction and physics using the Unreal Development Kit. This time he has added a particle emitter so when the wall is hit and breaks apart smoke is emitted looking more realistic.
