GameStarDE has made a really nice video with all of the new Technology demos from NVIDIA for the New GTX 400 series video cards. In the video you can see new footage of the PhysX Raging Rapids Ride demo, and some new and really nice footage of the PhysX Supersonic Sled demo we have been excited about for a long time. Check it out below.
A cool new video has surfaced on YouTube from GDC 2010 showing Nvidia’s Sarah Tariq talking about and explaining a new DX11/CUDA demo running on the new Fermi cards that shows off realistic hair with over 18,000 strands being computed with CUDA all on the GPU. Pretty fascinating stuff, the hair color reacts realistically to light and in the demo different levels of wind can be applied to the face to show off how the hair reacts realistically. Can’t wait to see stuff like tis really implemented into games and hopefully NVIDIA releases this tech demo when the new Fermi cards are finally announced or released.
EVGA has uploaded a new video of the PhysX Supersonic Sled Demo that was first showed off at CES 2010 last week. The new video shows the PhysX based sled moving along the track at different angles from what we previously saw and shows some impressive PhysX based destruction as it blows past the wooden house. The demo which is done in DX11 is also made up mostly of PhysX destructible’s along with PhysX smoke that reacts to it’s surroundings. The demo is supposedly going to be a new tech demo for the new Fermi video card’s that are going to be released within the next few months so hopefully we will get a chance to download and play with it soon.
Be sure to check out our previous coverage of the PhysX Supersonic Sled Demo:
PCGamesHardware has a new 720p version of the PhysX Rocket Sled Demo that was being shown off by NVIDIA on the new GF100 Fermi Video card at CES 2010 this past week. The video is not only 720p a lot better than the previous videos of this we posted about but also shows several different run through’s of the demo, check it out below.
In this 720p HD Video we see Nvidias GF100-Fermi Techdemo called Supersonic Sled, directly from CES 2010. In the box running the Demo were 3 graphics card, apparently of the GF100 Fermi breed. Nvidias Sean Cleveland tells us, that only one card was working to make the demo run. In his further comments, he explains how the demo uses DirectX 11 tesselation for improved geometry count and how Nvidias own Physx API helps to model all the parts of the demo, making the volumetric smoke from the engine being deflected by blast screens, the overhanging rock arc crumbling and the bridge break down. Not to mention to ragdoll the poor sledge pilot. Have Fun!
Ever since we saw the Glowball PhysX demo and the Floating Castle Physics Demo running on Tegra 3 powered tablets we have been pretty excited about physics on Tegra powered devices. Back in November NVIDIA announced the released of their new Quad-Core mobile Tegra 3 chip that uses “four CPU cores and its new GeForceRead More
