Some Cool NVIDIA APEX Physics Tests Done with the UDK

mfsksa has been playing around with the Apex PhysX available in the Unreal Development Kit and has made a pretty cool test level with the UDK showing off Apex PhysX. Check them out below and check out his YouTube page here. We have now seen a number of people working with the new Apex features in the UDK along with some pretty amazing work like the Completely Destructible Level Made With The UDK and APEX PhysX Destruction. Hopefully we will start to see this stuff implemented into actual games or workable demos.

Completely Destructible Level Made With The UDK and APEX PhysX Destruction Part 2

I was pretty amazed when i first saw the Completely Destructible Level Made With The UDK and APEX Destruction from RU1NOUS. The level looks like something from an NVIDIA PhysX tech demo with amazing destruction and Apex PhysX. Now he has made an update to this level and added some awesome PhysX based cloth to the level, check it out below. RU1NOUS also has a pretty cool website and blog for his work and has even made the level available for download here.

According his blog he has finished school and is looking to work in the industry. Hopefully somebody hires this guy so we can see stuff like this implemented into games!

UDK APEX Destruction Project Update WIP:

Another Cool Apex Destruction Demo with the Unreal Development Kit

Now this is another cool Apex PhysX Destruction demo done in the Unreal Development Kit by dantdj1 and uploaded to YouTube. This demo shows some cool Apex Destruction and physics (PhysX) along with walls that don’t actually get destroyed but fall over with enough force. I have not seen that yet and thought it was pretty cool. The pillars that get destroyed look similar to the ones in the PhysX APEX Destruction Test Level that Nvidia released back in 2009. You can see giant chunks of the pillar being blown away and then large portions of it falling to the ground in place, pretty cool stuff. Check it out below.

Completely Destructible Level Made With The UDK and APEX Destruction

Ever since GDC 2011 and the news that Apex PhysX support would be coming to the Unreal Development Kit along with the first APEX Destruction Demo From the NVIDIA Booth at GDC 2011 we have been excited about any news related to it. Apex PhysX support for the Unreal Development Kit was released in March and we have started to see some pretty cool stuff being made with it like the First APEX Physics(PhysX) Test With the Unreal Development Kit, and various Apex Destruction Demonstrations with the UDK. Now YouTube user RU1NOUS has made a video that has blown us away. he has made a completely destructible level in the UDK with the Apex Destruction tool that looks like some kind of tech demo that Nvidia would release to show off PhysX. RU1NOUS said he is doing this for his university dissertation and this is still a work in progress and plans to post an updated video soon so stay tuned for more info. It is great to see people doing things like this. Now the next step is to get this stuff implemented into actual games or tech demos that we can play with! Check out the video below and be sure to check out his YouTube page for more info and videos.
