BurSchnart has made a really cool video showing off the physics in CryEngine 3. The video uses “thousands of objects being hit or thrown away with Gravity Volumes” Check it out below and check his YouTube page for more cool videos.
Finally a physics video from the new CryEngine 3 SDK!!!!. This past week Crytek released the CryEngine 3 SDK free of charge for non-commercial use and since then we have been seeing some nice starter turotials but nothing with physics and destruction that can be done with it. YouTube User yohan80 has imported a Crysis 1 house into the SDK and shown off some nice physics effects. Check it out below.
For those of you that want to learn to use the CryEngine SDK i suggest checking out CyberGameArts. He is doing an entire CryEngine 3 tutorial series and posting them to YouTube.
Cryengine 3 SDK: The things that I will teach you guys!:
Crytek has released the CryEngine 3 SDK free of charge for non-commercial use. This is a really nice all-In-One game development engine that will allow you to make games based off of the CryEngine 3 engine that was used to make Crysis 2. I am pretty excited for this to be released hoping that we start to see people do some cool physics stuff with it like we have been seeing people do with Apex PhysX in the Unreal Development Kit. This seems pretty easy to use as well. I posted a few tutorials below showing how to get started with a basic level. I tried them out myself and it was very easy. I also made a cool video of the Forest tech demo that comes with the SDK showing off what you could potentially make with it. You can download the CryEngine SDK for yourself here.
Crytek GmbH (“Crytek”) is excited to announce that they will release their latest all-in-one game development solution CryENGINE 3 free of charge for non-commercial use today. The award winning SDK provides the complete game engine to create AAA quality next generation games for PC, and includes the CryENGINE®3 Sandbox™ level editor, a production-proven, 3rd generation “What you see is what you play” (WYSIWYP) – tool designed by and for professional developers. The free toolset is available for download at crydev.net, the former crymod.com community portal that offers documentation written by the developers of the engine, a thriving community and a supplementary knowledge base for CryENGINE 3. The free CryENGINE SDK will be updated regularly, to make sure our community has access to all the advances we make to CryENGINE 3.
Cry Engine 3 Sanbox 3 editor – Physics:
This is a video walkthrough i made of the Forest tech demo that comes with the SDK. This is a pretty good example of what you could potentially make with the SDK.
A new series of stage demo videos showing off Crysis 2 and CryEngine 3 from GDC 2010 have surfaced on YouTube. These videos show off the different features of CryEngine 3, most interesting to us is one of the videos that shows off the physics and different types of destruction and destructible objects that the engine can put into games. We recently posted about the Crytek GDC 2010 Physics Demonstration and GDC 2010 CryEngine 3 Tech Trailer Shows Crysis 2 With Awesome Physics and Destruction. This new video goes into detail on the different types of destructible physics based objects that the engine can implement into games and the difference between destructible and deformable objects. Check out the video below.
Ever since we saw the Glowball PhysX demo and the Floating Castle Physics Demo running on Tegra 3 powered tablets we have been pretty excited about physics on Tegra powered devices. Back in November NVIDIA announced the released of their new Quad-Core mobile Tegra 3 chip that uses “four CPU cores and its new GeForceRead More
