Completely Destructible Level Made With The UDK and APEX PhysX Destruction Part 2

I was pretty amazed when i first saw the Completely Destructible Level Made With The UDK and APEX Destruction from RU1NOUS. The level looks like something from an NVIDIA PhysX tech demo with amazing destruction and Apex PhysX. Now he has made an update to this level and added some awesome PhysX based cloth to the level, check it out below. RU1NOUS also has a pretty cool website and blog for his work and has even made the level available for download here.

According his blog he has finished school and is looking to work in the industry. Hopefully somebody hires this guy so we can see stuff like this implemented into games!

APEX Clothing on the hero character from EPIC’s Samaritan demo

Nvidia has a cool video showing off Apex Cloth physics on the character that was featured in the Unreal Engine 3 Samaritan Tech Demo Video. The clothing on the character is simulated using Apex PhysX for realistic looking clothing movements and interaction between different pieces of clothing and the surrounding environment. You can fine out more about Apex clothing and its features here and check out the video below.

From Nvidia Developer Zone Apex Clothing page:

The same high-detailed hero from EPIC’s Samaritan demo in a simple UE3 clothing map to showcase the physically simulated clothing. The belt and even the buckles are simulated properly providing a very realistic clothing interaction.

Havok Physics Demonstration at IDF San Francisco 2010

A pretty awesome video has been uploaded to YouTube showing a Havok Physics demonstration that was shown at the 2010 Intel Developer Forum in San Fransisco. The video shows some nice Havok Physics based Cloth simulation and destruction physics effects. The video shows the Havok Cloth simulation with a side-by-side comparison showing what cloth on a character would look like without Havok Physics and then with Havok Physics simulation. The end of the video shows off the destruction effects where a train is shown going over a completely destructible bridge that is destroyed with a rocket launcher. Check out the video below. the second video shows the start of the demo with Cloth Physics on an Ogre like character.

Bullet Physics Cloth Sail and Buoyancy Demo

This is pretty cool. While I was browsing the demo section of the Bullet Physics forums I came across this little project somebody is working on. It shows a boat that is physically simulated to react when waves hit it. The waves are not physics based water, just the boat’s buoyancy and the way it reacts to the water.  In another video the author added a physics based cloth sail to the boat making it look more realistic. Check out the video’s below. I can’t wait until we start to see stuff like this implemented into games on a larger scale.
