A Couple of Cool UDK PhysX Videos

Just a cuple of cool UDK physics(PhysX) videos that have been uploaded to youtube. TheHawksNest1990 has made a cool video showing off some basic physics with barrels while JarroRus is doing all kinds of crazy stuff with PhysX objects falling from the sky, check them out below.

UDK – Physics from TheHawksNest1990:

UDK Rain Of Physics Blocks from JarroRus:

UDK PhysX (apex destruction) Impact Damage Demonstration

We just posted about the UDK PhysX (apex destruction) Brick Map made with the Unreal Development Kit that Zombiethatatehimself put together. Now he has improved upon it with something I have not seen demonstrated before with these Apex PhysX demonstrations. He has added the take_Impact_Damage=True true setting to the objects being simulated so when they impact each other more damage is created from the impacts. Very cool stuff. Be sure to check out his YouTube page for more updates that we will hopefully see.

Physx Apex Pillar Destruction Test

YouTube user ReapersTruth is working on a new FPS with RPG elements called Truth that will implemented PhysX and destructible buildings/objects like the pillars we see in the video. He has uploaded a pretty cool test video showing off a Apex PhysX test where pillars are fully destructible and fracture in many different ways depending how they are hit. This one really reminds me of the PhysX APEX Destruction Test Level that NVIDIA showed off back in 2009 that has similar destructible pillars. Pretty awesome to see developers working on stuff like this now.

UDK PhysX (apex destruction) Bricks Map

Now this is pretty cool. Zombiethatatehimself has made pretty cool test map with the Unreal Development Kit and Apex PhysX that is a huge wall made out of individual PhysX objects or bricks in this case. 3 different videos were made each with different damage map settings that provide for some pretty different and cool destruction and physics effects. Check it out below and keep checking his YouTube channel for more info.
