Official NVIDIA PhysX Rocket Sled Demo Trailer Video

NVIDIA has uploaded an official video trailer for the PhysX Rocket Sled Demo to YouTube. Also known as the “PhysX Supersonic Sled Demo” that was first shown at CES 2010 running on the new GF100(Fermi) video card that will be released within the next few months. Many videos have surfaced of this PhysX demo being shown off by NVIDIA, however most of them have been video camera footage of a monitor running the demo, this new trailer from NVIDIA shows the demo and explains the purpose of it.

In the video Alex Sakhartchouck an “NVIDIA Demo Engineer” explains how the demo was built for the next generation of NVIDIA video cards to show off the latest and greatest technology NVIDIA has such as CUDA and PhysX along with DirectX 11 Tessellation. Every part of the rocket sled was made using PhysX objects to simulate how such a sled would work and react in real life, PhysX fluid simulation was also used to simulate the smoke the rocket gives off and reacts to it’s surroundings as if it was real and PhysX was used to simulate all of the debris that is caused by the sled such as the building that gets blown away as the rocket passes it and the bridge that falls apart which you can see in the video.

If you want to learn more about the making of the demo check out “An In-Depth Look at the PhysX Supersonic Sled Demo” we recently posted about. Also check out the other videos we have posted about that show different angles and info about the demo:
